David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.
The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
