Edwards as well as Gary O'Neil Included in Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the early candidates under consideration to succeed the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the squad's 10-match winless start to the Premier League season.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous links to the team - are among the names to be considered by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would pose a possible obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

Nevertheless the ex- Luton Town head coach - who made over a century of games for the club during his time as a player - is considered a strong contender for the position.

The mid-career manager is said to have backing from the Wolves directors as they start the search of hiring a new head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected contender, although he would be a surprising appointment given he was released by the club in December last year.

The ex- West Ham midfielder is out of work meaning the club would not need to pay any buyout fee.
